About Sean

Sean Heneghan

I’m an Acupuncturist and a Cognitive Hypnotherapist based in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.

I’m passionate about using these therapeutic approaches to help people with their physical and emotional health and am committed to helping people in a way that makes a real difference in the quality of their lives.

I’ve had an extensive education in both Acupuncture and Hypnotherapy. I had an 8 year training in Chinese Medicine, four years of which was spent studying Shiatsu and Tui-na  (oriental forms of medicinal bodywork) at The Shiatsu College London and The University of Westminster. From there I went on to gain my degree in Acupuncture at The College of Integrated Chinese Medicine. This BSc hons degree was a comprehensive training in Traditional Acupuncture under some of the most respected teachers in Europe.

After being in practice for a while, I encountered a psychotherapist who told me remarkable stories of the things he’d seen hypnosis do for people in pain. This sparked my curiosity and led me to train initially at The Institute of Clinical Hypnosis, before going on to train in Cognitive Hypnotherapy at The Quest Institute. The Quest Institute was created by Trevor Silvester, one of the pioneering figures in hypnotherapy today.

I’m a member of The British Acupuncture Council which is the main governing body for the practice of Traditional Acupuncture in the UK, and of The National Council for Hypnotherapy which ensures the highest standards in quality of training and ongoing supervision and development.

At my clinic in Berkhamsted I help people with a wide range of issues and am dedicated to providing a tailored approach that treats everyone as a unique individual. If you’re curious about how I could help you, please feel free to get in touch.
